I love the Speed Queen product, but especially loved the mechanical appliances of old. My washer is still that way and I love it! Tough to get used to all of the electronics. Just more to go wrong with them, I feel.

The dryer works well. The controls are easy to understand. I am very disappointed in the quality of the lint filter. There is a chintzy plastic cover that fits over the filter. It is constantly coming off and ending up with the clothes. The lint filter is screwed in place. This makes it hard to clean. The area around the lint filter collects dirt. This is a very poor design.

I purchased speed queen because of its reputation and warranty. I've had the DC5004WG since 4/29/25.
This is a new model which replaced the DC5003WG and appliance store didn't have the new one on display. I was told the new one had new features such as pet hair remover and sanitizer and steam refresher. I've only used so far the near dry and dry cycles. Auto sense doesn't always dry the clothes completely which is frustrating and I don't like that the timed drying only had 30 or 60 minutes options and nothing less or in between. There's also no indication how much time is remaining in the cycle. The previous model had timed options for 20, 30,40,50,60 and 70 minutes. Had I know the new model didn't had that I would have asked for the previous model or bought a different brand.
This dryer is very quiet and is slightly smaller in dimensions if your staircase is on the tight side.
It is a learning process to determine the proper cycles.
I can't say if I would recommend this dryer based on the auto- dryness selections( I want my clothes dry when I select auto sensor not slightly damp! ) and timer settings stink ( you can't set in between) I also don't like the spin speed 710 rpm, my old dryer was 1000rpm and clothes felt almost dry . I don't understand why the residential model is 850 rpm and this commercial model is so much less
I also purchased the washer TC5003wn . It washes great but cons are it doesn't have autofill and no way to advance the wash cycle which my old washer did. This washer is also very noisy ; not good enough unless it's in the basement.

We purchased this machine to replace our 15 year old Kenmore. The first day we used it, it would not heat up. Cold cycle. Technician came out, problem persisted. Now after replacing the motor, moisture sensor and control knobs, the dryer will not stop running. I noticed after 5 hours it was still running on high heat. Clothing scorching hot. Need to call again regarding this issue, which is clearly a safety issue at this point. The store we purchased it from will not take a return. This dryer has been a nightmare and we are out over a thousand dollars.

Dries my laundry fast. Isn't loud. My dryer repair guy highly recommended Speed Queen and I trusted his opinion. Great machine. I didn't need all the fancy electronic buttons.

This dryer is awesome! I live the simplicity. I got fed up with cheaply made dryer yers with lots of digital options that quit working after 3-5 years, so we went to the local appliance store and bought a speed queen set. No, it does not have any bells and whistles, but it works so well! Our local store has certified repairmen on staff, and the warranty is amazing. Just buy it!!

The Speed Queen line has always been our go to for laundry needs. Only thing noticed is that the dryer timer could possibly malfunction and need replacement. I understand the more expensive model with the touchscreen does not have this issue. So, this time around if I were to suggest any type of constructive criticism it would be the dryer timer malfunctioning requiring replacement. Other than that it works like a champ !

I bought this dryer to match wash that had good reviews. I didn't do a ton of research and wish I had. If you look all over reddit, there's lots of flaws that are listed and I started to experience them within a few months of owning the dryers.
Flaw 1: If you turn the timer dial the wrong way, the dryer won't shut off. Enabling you to run your dryer all night long if you turn the dial the wrong direction and head to bed. I understand SQ will tell you it says turn the dial clockwise on the dryer, but it's the only dryer I know that let's you turn it the wrong way. Imagine your electric bill after running that dryer for 12 hours a few times by mistake.
Flaw 2: The dryer will overheat and melt things. If you remember to turn the dial the correct way. That won't prevent your dryer from the possibility of melting. I don't mean your clothes, although they may get damages to. I mean the dryer melts the metal grate in the back as well as the plastic lint catch. We tried lower heat settings and it still melted. Again, go look around on reddit and see that I'm not lying. Speed Queen will say it's because of your ventilation not being good enough. Well, if Speed Queen's ventilation requirements are much more strict than other manufacturers and most homes don't qualify, this isn't a product I can recommend for the average household.
Customer service: I contacted customer service and it took 2 weeks to get an email back saying to call customer service. Speed Queen should be embarrassed and customers need to know just how horrible this company is.
In conclusion, avoid this dryer and probably Speed Queen. They claim to be better quality. However, my experience has left us hundreds of dollars poorer when I'm confident any old dryer would have done equally as well.

Good Machine but it came with a faulty timer and won't shut off on its own when on a normal cycle. It only works on a timed cycle. Called and warranty services have been giving me the run around for over a month. They claim they don't have the part to fix it. Initially they made me wait for 2 weeks to make an appointment because they said that they had to order the part and then they called and made an appointment, showed up without the part and said they would have to come back. They are supposed to come back this week so hopefully they finally make it right. Speed Queen needs to fix the timers on these machines and make them simple like their washing machines are.

Great quality dryer. Love the light inside and the stainless steel drum. Only bad thing is the dryer makes 3 loud noises when complete. Luckily the noise level can be adjusted an shut off. Other than that, no complaints.

Purchased to match the TC5 washer and did my research. Content with it at this time. Could be better.
Wish it had auto sense. Seems odd to not have it as this feature as been around for years.
Wish the door was a pull down as its easier for my hands. But I knew that ahead of purchase and I can live with it. Sure it makes it easier to reach items in the back, but then I like placing dried items on the door.
Wish the cycle selection markers were further apart. I cannot tell if I have chosen Max Dry or More Dry or Less Dry as there no click sounds for them. Sometimes the clothes are damp at the end of the cycle. Just don't want to overdry clothes.
Wish I knew the temperature for Delicate, Perm Press and Regular( low, medium, high etc)
Like that the selector moves through the cycle.
Like the lint filter in the front, its easy to clean and lint does not get on dried clothes.
Overall, I am happy with it. Its a learning process.

New dryer would not heat after 4 months. Could not get any service. Called service people numerous times but calls were not returned. Fred's finally brought me new dryer and took the old one back.Dryer might be alright but service is poor or nonexistent. Very disappointed. Expensive mistake on my part.should have kept my old dryer.

I will call for service when we return from vacation. The dryer control is difficult to judge whether you're on more dry or less dry. More often than that you are less dry and the clothes are still wet. I also tried fabric setting permanent press and during that cycle, the dryer continually Plays buzzer over and over, even though the clothes are nowhere near dry.

My old (22 years!) dryer just went belly-up ..after several years of having issues. Originally, I was looking for the cheapest dryer I could find, but when I learned of Speed Queen, and did a little research, I was drawn to it because of the quality, and the fact it was made in the US (This is huge for me).
Yes, it's kind of pricey, but I'm hoping that I won't need to purchase another dryer for a very long time. Time will tell, but assuming it's as good as it seems so far.....when my current washer gets retired, I'll be getting a Speed Queen TC500 to match!
I'd also like to add that the 5 year warranty for parts AND labor does instill confidence!
(Although my overall rating shows as a 4 out of 5.....it's only because I couldn't give it a 4.5 out of 5....which is what I WOULD rate it.)

The clothes are dried completely without over drying, the three settings delicate, perm press and regular are easy to understand and protect the clothes as well. It is the best dryer I have had with a easy to clean lint trap and love the light inside.

If you don't care how the pair will looks on your laundry, I'm not sure if you'll need to spend too much on a dryer.
This one is good. A large load will take the entire 70 minutes to dry, and with towels or jeans, I'll have to add about 20 more minutes. Overall is good.
